Hanging, Tagging & Prepping Guidelines

1. Tagging

Supplies Needed:

  • Safety Pins -OR- Tagging Gun & barbs (Can be purchased on Ebay or Amazon for around $10)

  • Cardstock-white or light colors only 65-67# recommended  (NO COPY PAPER)

  • Printer

Directions:

1. Log in to your online consignor account (Click here)

2.Once logged in ---> select "print tags" and then select the items you wish to print tags for

**tags print 8 per page**

3. Print tags out on cardstock (regular copy paper is too thin and results in lost and damaged tags) & cut them apart

4. Attach tags to clothing using safety pins or a tagging gun (preferred method)

           - If using safety pins, pin to upper left side of garment through a seam (see fig 1)

-If using a tagging gun, tag through manufacturer's tag or along an invisible seam along the left collar or left sleeve (see Fig 1). **Use caution with tagging gun and never tag through visible fabric as this may leave a hole**

Tagging a non-clothing item?

-Attach the tag using clear tape, painter's tape (for more delicate items like books), or zip ties. *Don't cover bar code with tape*

3. Prepping

For the best chance to sell the most items, make sure items are presentable and in good, working condition. Here are some requirements & tips:

Requirements:

1. All clothing must be free from stains, odor, damage and/or pet hair. *Sort items in bright or natural light to identify items which may not meet this criteria*

2. All battery operated items must be in working items and have batteries installed so that customers can test items. **The Dollar Store brands are fine and are usually the cheapest option**

3. Toys or games that contain small pieces should have the pieces attached securely. *Use a ziplock bag to contain small pieces and attach to the larger item with tape or a zip-tie*

*You can secure puzzles in a large zip-lock bag or by saran wrapping the outside of the puzzle*

4. Check ALL gear/equipment against recalls using the following website:

www.wemakeitsafer.com

5. Toys and other large items should be free from odors and large stains. **Use disinfectant wipes and/or magic erasers to make items look presentable and to increase sell-through rate**

Suggestions: (not required, but may increase your sales)

1. Hang clothing 1-2 days prior to drop-off to decrease the amount of wrinkles

2. Use Magic Erasers on sneakers to give them a "like-new" appearance

3. Group same size/ similar brand clothing into "sets" (parents love to find full outfits, instead of trying to search for matching pieces). **Recommended for sizes NB-18 months**
